The Industrial Funding Fee

The fee is arithmetic on the sales you already reported.

GSA funds the schedules program out of a percentage of what is sold through them. The holder collects it inside the price, reports the sales monthly, and remits the fee quarterly. Same numbers, one step later.

The figures

Rate, cadence, deadline, and route

Each one below is cited to the GSA source it was read from, because a rate on a page nobody can check is a rate nobody should act on.
Rate
0.75% of reported sales, unless a solicitation states otherwise. GSA posts the current rate on the Vendor Support Center rather than fixing it in the clause, so it is worth reading the source before you calculate a quarter.
Cadence
Remitted quarterly. GSA notes a contractor may choose to pay monthly; quarterly is the obligation, and it is what this product’s figures and deadlines are built on.
Deadline
Within 30 calendar days after the last calendar day of the reporting quarter. Calendar days, not business days.
How it is paid
Electronically, through Pay.gov inside SRP. Paper checks are not accepted.

Who does what

This product computes the figure from the same reported lines the month’s file was built from, shows the quarter it belongs to, and shows the date it is due.

You remit it. Nothing here initiates a payment, schedules one, holds a bank detail, or confirms that one settled — we cannot see Pay.gov and will not pretend to.

Worked figure

The same month, one step later

The reported total below is the sum of every line in the sample month — the same lines the sample file carries, returns and discounts included.

One month of a quarter. A real quarter is the sum of its three reported months on the contract.

Reported total taken from the emitted fixture month; the fee is that total at the posted rate.

There is nothing clever about the arithmetic, and that is the point: the fee is a percentage of a number you already had to get right. The value of computing it here is that it comes off the same reported lines rather than a second spreadsheet — so the figure you remit and the figure you reported cannot disagree, and if a month is corrected the quarter is recomputed from the correction.

A return or a discount line carries a negative total and reduces the reported figure the fee is taken on, which is why a quarter is computed from the lines rather than from a bank deposit.

Whether a particular sale is reportable under your contract is a question about your contract. This product applies the file format’s rules to the transactions you give it and makes no determination about which ones belong there.
